Quote of the Week - Flannery O'Connor

“Push back against the age as hard as it pushes against you. What people don’t realize is how much religion costs. They think faith is a big electric blanket, when of course it is the cross.” -- Flannery O'Connor

Many people tend to take religion for granted, believing it exists for their protection, but that they do not have to do anything for Christianity in return -- except perhaps attend church services from time to time.
The fact is that people need to be true Christians by praying daily and by thanking God for everything He has given us. Christians also have a responsibility to help people who are in need of assistance -- financially or otherwise.
As one wise man once said regarding this dilemma, "Going to church does not make a person a Christian any more than going into a garage makes a person a car."

There can be no Christianity where there is no Cross. Jesus explained that to his disciples while He was with them. It is a lesson we must remember every day.
