A recent Wall Street Journal report stated that "The political action committees of the top six Wall Street firms -- Bank of America, Citigroup Inc, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs Group, JP Morgan Chase and Morgan Stanley -- gave 58 percent of their total donations to Democrats in 2009 but have trimmed their contribution to 51 percent over the past six months."

Wall Street may contribute more to social conservatives now that it feels it has been unfairly blamed for the U.S. financial crisis. Just goes to show how playing the political blame card is risky business. Another sign of Obama's lack of experience and/or over-riding concern to justify policies that he believes will win him re-election.
