Georgette Forney, long-time warrior for the rights of the unborn, has this to say:
Dear Friends for Life,
If you were to ever contact your elected officials in Washington, DC, now is the time. Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are trying to ram a national healthcare program down the throats of America that will mandate abortion. If they get their way, abortion-on-demand will be a routine part of healthcare.
The number of unborn babies dying from abortion will absolutely skyrocket, and you'll be paying for it with your tax dollars. I'm not exaggerating in the least! It will be the greatest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade. There's also great concern that the restructuring of healthcare will result in rationing of it-especially for the disabled, elderly and those with chronic life-threatening illnesses.
Please contact your senators and member of the House of Representatives. (simply go to http://www.senate.gov<http//www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm> and http://www.house.gov<http//www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW_by_State.shtml>).
Demand that they oppose any government healthcare plan that doesn't specifically exclude abortion. Why do we need to have specific language in any Health Care Reform Bill?
The excerpt below from a recent LifeSiteNews.com article explains…
CNS also asked White House Press Secretary Gibbs if reducing abortions would not include passing the Hatch Amendment that would prohibit federal funds from going to abortion in Obama's proposed health care plan. Studies have shown that making abortion publicly funded significantly increases the number of abortions that are committed.
Gibbs responded, however, that Obama would be leaving the question of whether or not to fund abortion in the plan up to "experts."
Said Gibbs: "Well, I have not seen the Hatch amendment. I know the President believes that current policy -- certainly current policy for Medicaid prohibits federal funding for abortions. That's the Hyde amendment. I think when it comes to designing a benefit package, I think the President and this administration agree that that's -- a benefit package is better left toexperts in the medical field to determine how best and what procedures to cover."
The legislation currently under consideration calls for a 25-member "Health Benefits Advisory Committee" to construct the government's basic health insurance package. The committee members would be appointed by Obama and the strongly pro-abortion Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
These "experts" will have the power to include ABORTION in all health care coverage if they decide, and the administration is planning on giving them the freedom to make the choice.
