However, I do not think that this requires the redefinition of marriage to uphold it, and I do not believe that marriage should be redefined.”-- Rt. Rev Patricia Storey, in a letter to the clergy in the United Diocese of Meath and Kildare

A gay couple should have the right to have a civil union ceremony conducted by a justice of the peace.

However, a gay couple should not be allowed to have a marriage ceremony conducted by a priest or minister, as marriage must be defined as the union of a man and a woman.
