WASHINGTON: US Vice-President Joe Biden said on Sunday that American forces had pinned Al Qaeda terrorists under ground, killing 12 top leaders and taking out 100 of their associates.
Mr Biden, who made this claim in interviews to various US television channels, did not mention that most of these Al Qaeda leaders and militants had been killed by drones, but said that the United States would be “absolutely relentless” in pursing this strategy of targeting militants in their hideouts.
