Continuing Saga of Weird Kentucky Weather

There is a saying in Kentucky that "if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes." (I remember that they used to say that in Maine also.)

This morning was sunny and calm, but I knew something was coming because a liquid de-icer truck sprayed the roads ahead of me on my way to the college.

Around noon, the winds came with gusts up to 50 miles per hour. That made me nervous as I still have trees around my house with broken limbs. I went nine days without power after the recent ice storm, so I get nervous when facing winds, plummeting temps and rain

The rain arrived around 2:30 p.m. and now it is snowing like crazy!

Looking at the map above, you can see the front. Temperatures in Ky range from 31 degrees in the northwest to 57 in the eastern part of the state. The front cuts across Kentucky from the southwest to the northeast and the temps vary considerably on the two sides of the front.
